Training, Qualifications and Professional Background

Founder Credentials

Anusha Avi Arulvel

BA, MA, MSc, DipNAT, DipNT
Founder of SatSoma Whole Health

I created SatSoma Whole Health from many strands of my life: clinical training, Ayurveda, nutrition, community work, emotional healing, lived experience, and a deep belief that women deserve to understand their bodies with more dignity and less fear.

My work is not about giving people another list of things to do.

It is about helping women understand what their body may be asking for, how their symptoms connect, and how to rebuild steadiness through food, rhythm, nervous system support, emotional awareness and personalised care.

BA Social Sciences

Before I trained clinically, I studied people, systems, communities and the pressures that shape how we live.

That background still influences how I work today. I do not see health as something separate from a person’s life. Your body is affected by food, sleep, hormones and nutrients, but also by stress, relationships, responsibility, work, identity, environment and the amount you have had to carry.

This is why my approach is both clinical and human.

I look at the body, but I also look at the life the body has been living inside.

My Clinical Approach

At SatSoma Whole Health, I bring together naturopathic nutrition, functional medicine principles, Ayurveda, emotional healing, nervous system awareness and medical literacy.

This means I may look at digestion, blood sugar, hormones, sleep, energy, nutrient status, cycle history, stress patterns, emotional load and daily rhythm.

I do not believe women need more generic advice. Most women have already tried very hard.

What they often need is context, careful guidance, emotional safety and a way to understand their body without feeling overwhelmed by it.

The Eight Pillar Longevity Method

Over years of study and client work, I began to see the same foundations appear again and again.

When these foundations are supported together, women often begin to feel clearer, steadier and more able to live from their own strength.

The Eight Pillar Longevity Method looks at:

Metabolism and sustainable energy
Clear thinking and emotional steadiness
Hormonal rhythm
Digestive strength and nutrient absorption
Sleep and nervous system balance
Physical strength and self trust
Identity, purpose and direction
Healthy and resilient relationships

Supporting the body return to a balanced state.

Community Work and Human Understanding

Before establishing my clinical practice, I worked in social enterprise, youth work and community development.

I mentored founders through United Nations funded initiatives, delivered community programmes through Toynbee Hall, and worked with young people and families facing significant pressure.

That experience changed the way I understood wellbeing. It showed me that people do not struggle in isolation. They struggle inside systems, families, responsibilities, histories and environments.

Today, this helps me meet clients with more compassion and more depth. I am interested not only in what is happening in the body, but what the body has had to adapt to.

Nervous System and Emotional Integration

Many capable women look calm on the outside, but inside they are carrying a constant level of pressure:

  • They keep going
  • They hold everyone together
  • They perform
  • They care
  • They cope

Over time, this can affect sleep, digestion, hormones, mood, energy and mental clarity.

My work helps women notice the deeper patterns beneath the strain, such as over responsibility, abandonment, people pleasing, emotional suppression, chronic vigilance and difficulty receiving support.

The mind and body are not separate. They are always in conversation.

When that conversation becomes calmer, the body often has more space to restore steadiness.

Food as a Foundation

Food is one of the most direct ways we communicate with the body.

For more than eight years, I have worked with plant focused, clinically grounded nutrition to support energy, hormonal wellbeing, digestion and metabolic resilience.

Food is not just fuel. It becomes your tissues, hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters and cellular structures.

My work helps women eat in a way that is nourishing, realistic and matched to their life stage, physiology, workload and rhythm.

Environment and Space

Health is also shaped by the spaces we live and work in. I trained in spatial design and Feng Shui for homes and organisations, later served as a board member of the Feng Shui Society and taught at the Feng Shui Academy in Lisbon.

This part of my work recognises that light, layout, noise, atmosphere and spatial rhythm can influence how we think, rest, work and recover. For me, health has always been ecological. It includes the body, the home, the nervous system, the food, the relationships and the life around the person.

A Whole Woman Approach

At SatSoma Whole Health, we take a different approach to women’s health. Rather than chasing symptoms one by one, we look at the wider pattern behind how you feel, including your hormones, digestion, blood sugar, sleep, stress response, emotional load, food choices, daily rhythm, environment, cycle history and the way life has been asking you to keep going.

This is truly holistic care: science led, body aware, mind aware and life aware, with the aim of helping you understand what may be driving your symptoms, what your body may be asking for, and which steps make sense for you now.

My work is shaped by study, clinical practice, lineage and lived experience. I come from an Ayurvedic lineage of eight generations, and my approach is about taking the depth and intelligence of that lineage and making it practical, modern and relevant for women living real lives today.

I see Ayurveda as an incredible evidence informed and increasingly evidence based tool for understanding the body, because so much of what it has spoken about for thousands of years is now being explored through modern science, including circadian rhythm, digestive timing, sleep, fasting, seasonal living, nervous system regulation, inflammation, cellular repair and the deep relationship between daily rhythm and long term health.

Even Nobel Prize recognised research into circadian biology and autophagy reflects principles that Ayurveda has placed at the centre of health for thousands of years, especially rhythm, timing, digestion, rest, renewal and the body’s natural capacity to repair when we work with it rather than constantly overriding it. This is why I see Ayurveda as profoundly relevant for modern women. In Ayurveda, this is the movement towards Swastha: becoming established in yourself, with steadier energy, clearer rhythms and a deeper relationship with your own body.

I also bring my own lived experience of endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids, and although that is no longer my current reality, the journey changed me deeply. It gave me a much greater respect for women who live in bodies that can feel painful, unpredictable, confusing or difficult to trust.

At SatSoma Whole Health, you are met as a whole woman, with practical food guidance, lifestyle support, Ayurvedic wisdom and emotional awareness brought together in a way that feels realistic for your life. This is here to help you stop guessing what your body needs, feel clearer about what to eat, understand why you may feel tired, foggy, heavier in your body, anxious, irritable or out of balance, and begin following a personalised pathway that helps you feel steadier, more nourished, more confident and more like yourself again.

Because sometimes the struggle is not only physical. You may feel as though your body has changed without your permission, your weight has crept up, your confidence has dropped, and the version of you who once felt alive, attractive, purposeful or emotionally held feels harder to reach. You may feel emotionally stripped, abandoned by your own body, unsure where you belong in this stage of life, or quietly carrying the old wound of feeling not enough.

This work is here to help you come back into relationship with yourself, so you can understand what your body may be asking for, support your energy and hormones in a grounded way, soften the emotional patterns that keep you feeling depleted, and begin to feel clearer, steadier, more nourished, more purposeful and more at home in yourself again.
